Many Christians whine, stomp their feet, and demand that the Ten Commandments should be displayed in public schools, courts, or other institutions.  It is only fair that if the commandments are displayed, so should the vile penalties for breaking those commandments.

These penalties should be posted in their entirety so that society can see just what kind of garbage the Bible is feeding you.



First Commandment

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  Exodus 20:3


“He who sacrifices to any god, other than to the LORD alone, shall be utterly destroyed.”   Exodus 22:20

“And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heavens, which I have not commanded.  Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing and shalt stone them with stones, till they die”.   Deuteronomy 17:1-5

Death for prophets and fortune tellers of other gods   Deuteronomy 13:4

“If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is of thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.  Thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God.”   Deuteronomy 13:6-10

“He that sacrifices unto any god, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed”.   Deuteronomy 13:13-16

Death for prophets that presume to speak in God’s name   Deuteronomy 18:20

Death by stoning for those that sacrifice offspring to Molech, a pagan Ammonite god.   Leviticus 20:2

“He that believeth not, shall be damned”.   Mark 16:16

Other pagan religious practices such as witchcraft, speaking to spirits, necromancy, divination, and sorcery were also proscribed.   Leviticus 19:26, 20:6, Deuteronomy 18:10-11

Death for sorcery.   Exodus 22:18

Stoning for mediums.   Leviticus 20:27

Cursed is the man who makes an idol or a molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ And all the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’   Deuteronomy 27:15


Second Commandment

Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image.   Deuteronomy 27: 15

…the idolaters… they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  This is the second death.   Revelations 21:8

Third Commandment

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain   Exodus 20:7

He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.   Mark 3:29


Fourth Commandment

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy   Exodus 20:8


Whosoever shall work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.   Exodus 31:15

Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.   Exodus 35:2

And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day…And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.   Numbers 15:32


Fifth Commandment

And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.   Exodus 21:17

For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.   Leviticus 20:9,

Have a rebellious son?  Have the whole town stone him to death of course.   Deuteronomy 21:18-23,

Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.   Deuteronomy 27:16

(God) Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.  Matthew 15:4

(Moses) Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.   Mark 7:10


Sixth Commandment

Thou shalt not kill   Exodus 20:13


Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.   Exodus 21:12

…do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty.   Exodus 23:7

Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.   Leviticus 24:17

Killed someone on accident? Flee to another city.   Numbers 35:11 and Deuteronomy 19:4

Accidentally hit a pregnant women so that she miscarries the baby and dies?  Death.   Exodus 21:22-25

Did your ox get loose and gore someone to death?  You and the ox die too!   Exodus 21:28-32

..anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.   Matthew 5:21

…you have become a lawbreaker.   James 2:11

Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.  1 John 3:15

Killing a burglar is ok though   Exodus 22:2


Seventh Commandment

Thou shalt not commit adultery    Exodus 20:14

Bonus! – The Adultery Test   Number 5:12


And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.   Leviticus 20:10

If a man is found sleeping with another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die.   Deuteronomy 22:22

And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.   Leviticus 21:9

Adulteresses to be stoned, cut down with swords, slay their sons, slay their daughters, and burn their houses with fire.   Ezekiel 23:47

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: …nor adulterers, .. shall inherit the kingdom of God.   1 Corinthians 6

[Jesus]: I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.   Matthew 19:9

…those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.  Galatians 5:20

No inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.   Ephesians 5:5

According to Jesus, anyone who divorces for any reason, other than having an affair, and then re-marries… has committed adultery.


Eighth Commandment

Thou Shalt Not Steal   Exodus 20:15


Death for kidnappers.   Exodus 21:16 and Deuteronomy 24:7

Thieves homes destroyed by God.   Zechariah 5:4

Restitution with interest.   Exodus 22:1-4, Exodus 22:7, Leviticus 6:4-5

Killing a thief caught in the act is not an act of murder   Exodus 22:2

Slavery if you cannot repay the debt.   Exodus 22:3

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?   Be not deceived: … nor thieves, … will inherit the kingdom of God.   1 Corinthians 6:9


Ninth Commandment

Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness   Exodus 20:16


Banishment for swearing falsely.   Zechariah 5:3

God destroys the house of anyone who swears falsely by his name.   Zechariah 5:4

Have nothing to do with a false charge … for I will not acquit the guilty.   Exodus 23:7

Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is one who gives false testimony against a neighbor.   Proverbs 25:18

Whatever the false witness intended to do to the innocent party would be done to him.   Deuteronomy 19:15-19


Tenth Commandment

Thou Shalt Not Covet   Exodus 20:17


No inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.   Ephesians 5:5

The act of even looking at a woman “lustfully” is considered adultery, head back to the Seventh Commandment for your punishment.   Mathew 5:28
