Christians talk endlessly about abortion being a crime against God. In their determination to control women they have been forced to rely on exceedingly weak sections such as “thou shall not kill”, ”I kneweth thou in the womb” and their favorite:
When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no harm follows, the one who hurt her shall be fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon; and he shall pay as the judges determine. If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth… Exodus 21:22-24
The problem is that the man who injures a pregnant woman in the process, shall repay her according to the degree of injury inflicted on her, not the fetus.
How can Christians assume that abortion is wrong judging by these feeble verses when the Bible advocates infanticide and many other atrocities against children and pregnant women?
The glory of Israel will fly away like a bird, for your children will die at birth or perish in the womb or never even be conceived. Even if your children do survive to grow up, I will take them from you. It will be a terrible day when I turn away and leave you alone. I have watched Israel become as beautiful and pleasant as Tyre. But now Israel will bring out her children to be slaughtered.” O LORD, what should I request for your people? I will ask for wombs that don’t give birth and breasts that give no milk. The LORD says, “All their wickedness began at Gilgal; there I began to hate them. I will drive them from my land because of their evil actions. I will love them no more because all their leaders are rebels. The people of Israel are stricken. Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more fruit. And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children.” Hosea 9:11-16
Hosea desires that the people of Ephiram can no longer have children and prays for God’s intervention. God of course obeys by making all their unborn children miscarry. Is not terminating a pregnancy unnaturally “abortion”?
The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords. Hosea 13:16
Once again this god kills the unborn, including their pregnant mothers.
The Lord commanded Moses to give the Israelites the following instructions. It may happen that a man becomes suspicious that his wife is unfaithful to him and has defiled herself by having intercourse with another man. But the husband may not be certain, for his wife may have kept it secret — there was no witness, and she was not caught in the act. Or it may happen that a husband becomes suspicious of his wife, even though she has not been unfaithful. In either case the man shall take his wife to the priest. He shall also take the required offering of one kilogramme of barley flour, but he shall not pour any olive oil on it or put any incense on it, because it is an offering from a suspicious husband, made to bring the truth to light. The priest shall bring the woman forward and make her stand in front of the altar. He shall pour some holy water into a clay bowl and take some of the earth that is on the floor of the Tent of the Lord’s presence and put it in the water to make it bitter. Then he shall loosen the woman’s hair and put the offering of flour in her hands. In his hands the priest shall hold the bowl containing the bitter water that brings a curse. Then the priest shall make the woman agree to this oath spoken by the priest: “If you have not committed adultery, you will not be harmed by the curse that this water brings. But if you have committed adultery, may the Lord make your name a curse among your people. May he cause your genital organs to shrink and your stomach to swell up. May this water enter your stomach and cause it to swell up and your genital organs to shrink. The woman shall respond, I agree; may the Lord do so. Numbers 5:11-22
The description of this bizarre, brutal, and abusive ritual is performed on a wife SUSPECTED of adultery. This is considered to be an induced abortion to rid a woman of another man’s child.
(Moses) “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him.” Numbers 31:17
At that time Menahem, starting out from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in the city and its vicinity, because they refused to open their gates. He sacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women. 2 Kings 15:16
Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, … 1 Samuel 15:3
God commands the death of helpless “suckling” infants. This literally means that the children god killed were still nursing.
He smote the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast. Psalms 135:8
To Him who smote the Egyptians in their firstborn, Psalms 136:10
Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock. Psalms 137:9
God is praised for slaughtering little babies and commands that infants should be “dashed upon the rocks”. Disgusting.
For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. Leviticus 20:9
Jephthah killed his young daughter (his only child) by burning her alive as a burnt sacrifice to the lord for he commanded it. Judges 11:30-40
And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. 2 Kings 6:28-29
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. Deuteronomy 21:18-21
Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go. Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light. And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold. And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place. And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel. Judges 19:24-29
To put it very bluntly; this poor young lady was murdered for being raped.
Now it came about at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle. Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was no home where there was not someone dead. Exodus 12:29
God intentionally kills every first-born child of every family in Egypt, simply because he was upset at the Pharaoh. And god caused the Pharaoh’s actions in the first place. Since when is it appropriate to murder children for their ruler’s forced action?
Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.… 2 Kings 2:23-24
The prophet Elisha, was being picked on by some young boys from the city because of his bald head. The prophet turned around and cursed them in the Lords name. Two female bears came out of the woods and killed forty-two of them. You would think that God could understand that sometimes the kids make childish jokes. Calling someone “bald head” is far from being worthy of death.
And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat. Leviticus 26:30
God repents of having made Saul king since Saul refused to carry out God’s commandments (i.e., Saul refused to murder all the innocent women and children.) At least god realizes what an immoral, murderous pig he is on this one. 1 Samuel 15:11-18
Laying the foundation for a city using your firstborn child and using your youngest son to set up the gates. I Kings 16:34
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.” Jesus, Revelation 2:22-23
If God can find you, he will “thrust you through,” smash your children “to pieces” before your eyes, and rape your wife. Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. Isaiah 13:15-18
Kill Sons of Sinners
Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. Isaiah 14:21
God will kill the young men in war and starve their children to death. Jeremiah 11:22-23
God will make parents eat their own children, and friends eat each other. Jeremiah 19:7-9
God gets angry and mercilessly torments and kills everyone, young and old. He even causes women to eat their children. Lamentations 2:20-22
And they came to the place which God had told him of and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. Genesis 22:9
It does not matter that God let Abraham get out of murdering Isaac. To put a knife up to your son’s throat is child abuse.
And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. I Kings 3:24-25
This test was of course given to see who the real mother of the child was. Christians view this king as a wise man.
If you really loved Jesus then he insists that you abandon your wife and children for him. Only that way will he allow you to go to heaven. (That is if you meet his other hefty requirements, don’t slip through the loopholes, and ignore the contradictions.) Matthew 19:29
Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark 7:9
Beat Children of Mixed Marriages
About the same time I realized that some of the men of Judah had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab. Even worse, half their children spoke in the language of Ashdod or some other people and could not speak the language of Judah at all. So I confronted them and called down curses on them. I beat some of them and pulled out their hair. I made them swear before God that they would not let their children intermarry with the pagan people of the land. “Wasn’t this exactly what led King Solomon of Israel into sin?” I demanded. “There was no king from any nation who could compare to him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel. But even he was led into sin by his foreign wives. How could you even think of committing this sinful deed and acting unfaithfully toward God by marrying foreign women? Nehemiah 13:23-27
Christians Commanded to Follow The Laws of the Land
“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which god has established. The authorities that exist have been established by god. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what god has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he shall commend you. For he is god’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is god’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. There fore it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. Romans 13:1-7
Clearly it is the job of Christians to obey the laws, and the laws of this country clearly state that abortion is legal.
Christians should respect and honor that law. God commands them to NOT disobey, which also entails attempting to get the law overturned and harassing abortion clinics.
